Coconut Papaya offers a wide selection of Maneki Neko japanese cats !

The maneki-neko, also known as the lucky cat, is a traditional japanese statuette, usually bustling with a battery or on solar energy, representing a cat that shakes a paw. It's often disdplayed in restaurants and shops in asia.

According to the tradition, the maneki neko is considered as a lucky charm that attracts luck and wealth. But there are some nuances depending on the paw it shakes, and according to its color :

- If the cat waves his left paw, it attracts customers into a store. If it waves his right paw, it attracts money.

- The golden cat attracts wealth.

- The white cat, the symbol of purity, attracts good luck and promotes good social relations.

- The black cat is considered to be a talisman that wards off evil spirits.

- The silver cat symbolizes longevity.

- The red cat promotes good health.

- The pink cat increases the chance of finding love.

- The green cat helps to succeed at school or work.

- The multicolored cat (often ed and black), quite rare, attracts happiness.

The maneki-neko is also often depicted with "attributes" : one often sees in a family with a cat and a kitten (in this case, it is a talisman protector of the family), bearing coins of gold or even sitting on a gold ingot (symbolizes wealth).

The tradition of the maneki-neko is still alive and new representations are born every day to satisfy the most superstitious among us !
