When we talk about beauty rituals in Ayurveda, we talk about care, not makeup.

Vata, Pitta and Kapha are the 3 doshas.

Each is the combination of two of the five great elements: fire, water, earth, air and ether (equated with space). Doshas determine your physical and spiritual characteristics.

Each of us is made up of the three doshas, ​​but at different proportions. It is very rare for an individual to be made up of 3 doshas in equal proportions.

Generally the constitution is mixed, with a dominant dosha, an important second and a minor last. The ideal is to find a balance between these 3 constitutions, and therefore reduce the impact of the present excess dosha, which causes disease, difficulties and malaise.

As you will have understood, the goal of Ayurveda is to reduce excess doshas in order to restore balance and harmony.

To determine your constitution, it is necessary to take into account several physical criteria:

    the appearance of the body,
    the weight,
    the skin,
    the hair,
    the teeth

And also psychological criteria:

    Memory,
    the sleep,
    creativity,
    libido,
    dreams,
    the character…

You may discover that you have a dominant dosha related to your character, and another different, related to your physical appearance.

In the next paragraph, we will focus on this second point because it is this one that is essential to build your Ayurvedic skincare routine.

Determine your dominant dosha and beauty rituals to apply.

We have come to understand that adopting an Ayurvedic skincare routine requires determining what your dosha is.

You will now answer that according to the specificities of your skin. Find, among the examples below, the description that suits you the most, and you will know then your dominant dosha, and therefore what are the habits of life to follow, and also the beauty products adapted to your skin.

Vâta = air + space.

Your skin is rather dry, thin, cold, sensitive to cold and dehydrated. Optional: you have dry eczema or early aging of the face.
