How to recharge your catalysis lamp?
Have you just received your new catalytic lamp perfume refill and want to enjoy it right away? Here's how:
- First of all, make sure you have placed your catalytic lamp on a stable surface, which is not afraid of possible splashes.
- Remove the decorative cap, then the extinguisher and finally the wick/burner assembly. Let the wick / burner set dry in the open air for about 30 to 45 minutes: the last traces of the perfume you used previously will evaporate, giving way to the new fragrance that you will test today!
- Using a funnel arranged in the neckline of the bottle, fill the lamp to about 2/3 with your new refill.
- Replace the burner and wick, then turn it off.
- Leave on for about 20 minutes. During this time, the wick absorbs the new fragrance and makes it go up to the burner.
- Now you can turn on the lamp: remove the extinguisher and turn on the burner with a lighter or match. Let the flame burn for 2 minutes, then extinguish it by blowing on it. Replace the decorative cap (without extinguishing it): it protects against a possible burn because the catalytic burner is very hot!
- The catalysis lamp is now in action and diffuses the scent you have chosen. We hope that your new recharge keeps all its promises!
You can let the lamp work like this for a maximum of 20 minutes to perfume an area of 10 m2. (To perfume a room of 20m2, you can therefore let the lamp work for up to 40 minutes). When the room is sufficiently deodorized and scented, remove the decorative cap (be careful, it may be hot!) and put the extinguisher back in place on the burner. Your catalysis lamp will then be turned off, but the pleasant scents it has diffused will remain perceptible for a long time to come...
How long does a catalytic lamp perfume refill take?
A liquid perfume refill of 250ml allows about 10 hours of combustion. This is equivalent to about 30 days of perfume in a room of 10m2, at the rate of 20 minutes of daily diffusion.
A refill of 500ml allows 20 hours of combustion, or about 2 months of daily perfume in a room of 10m2, or 1 month in a room of 20m2.
These figures are communicated to you for information purposes, based on information from our suppliers, and customer testimonials. Depending on how you use the catalysis lamp, it is possible that you may take the duration of a recharge different for you. Like what if you do not use it every day, then the recharge will have a longer lifespan than what is indicated above. Conversely, if you leave your lamp running for more than 20 minutes daily, then your recharge will last less than the advertised time.
Replacement accessories for catalytic lamps
Coco Papaya also offers spare accessories for catalysis lamps, including wicks. These are usually sold with the burner (also called catalytic stone) in the form of "wick + burner" sets. Before ordering your spare parts, carefully consult the information on the product description page, because the "wick + burner" sets are not universal : they are compatible with some models of catalytic lamps in particular, but not with all, nor with all brands.

Now let's see under what circumstances it is necessary to change the wick of your catalysis lamp.
What is the life of the wick of a catalytic lamp?
The wick and burner of the catalysis lamp must be changed at the same time. We call this the set "wick + burner". Most manufacturers of catalytic lamps recommend changing the set "wick + burner" about 1 time a year , or after 200 ignitions.
If you find that the efficiency of your catalytic lamp is decreasing, or that the diffusion of scents seems reduced, then it may be a sign that the wick + burner assembly of your lamp is at the end of its life. We advise you to replace it with a new one.
The burner of my catalysis lamp is all black! Do I need to change it?
No: the fact that the burner of your catalytic lamp is black does not necessarily mean that you have to change it.
Blackening of the catalytic burner is a normal phenomenon due to the combustion of the liquid perfume. To clean the burner so that it returns to its original color, simply put your catalytic lamp into operation, as you usually do. But this time, instead of blowing the flame from the burner after two minutes, leave it a little longer: between 3 minutes and 6 minutes maximum.
Normally, the burner should return to its gray color after this process. If not, consider changing it on your next order.
