Dive into the heart of indigenous America

Also known as a "monumental pole" or "totem pole", this 150cm high Native American totem pole is inspired by those made by the indigenous peoples of the Northwest Coast of the United States.

It is a rare and imposing object, available in limited edition, and which has been entirely handcrafted by our partner craftsman. This model stands out for its aged finish : after finishing the making of the totem, the craftsman displays it outdoors for several days, then patinates it until it obtains the appearance of an antique object. The result is very realistic: it feels like the totem has stood the test of time!

Transform your space into a haven of ancient wisdom with this impressive Indian totem pole and let yourself be transported on a spiritual journey into the heart of indigenous America.

Can I install this totem pole outdoors?

This totem pole is intended for interior decoration. But with a few precautions, it is possible to expose it outside:

  • The first step is to protect the wood from moisture. To do this, cover the entire totem pole with a water-repellent product, such as a high-protection stain (product available in all DIY stores). Don't forget the underside of the totem pole or water will seep in by capillary action. Renew this protection every 2 to 3 years if your totem pole is often exposed to rain.
  • It should also be protected from the wind to prevent it from falling and breaking. One solution is to anchor it to the ground by screwing its base into the concrete, for example. In any case, prefer a place that is not exposed to the wind.

The eagle: an emblematic animal of Amerindian cultures

The eagle is very often depicted in Amerindian artistic and cultural objects and it overlooks this majestic totem pole. Indeed, in most Native American ethnicities, the eagle has a deep spiritual significance, symbolizing strength, courage, wisdom, and connection with the divine.

Considered a messenger of the gods and a spiritual guide, the eagle occupies a central place in many Indigenous beliefs and traditions. For many tribes, the eagle is also a symbol of intuition and insight: it embodies the ability to see what lies beyond appearances and to understand the mysteries of the universe.

Considered the king of the air, the eagle is often associated with the celestial world and is a reminder of the connection between earth and sky, serving as an intermediary between humans and higher spirits. Its majesty and power inspire respect and admiration, and make the eagle an emblem of pride and nobility for the Indigenous peoples of North America.
