Beautiful statue (30cm tall) of lord Shiva in hand carved wood. A true masterpiece of wood sculpture !
Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu, a major god of hinduism. In sanskrit, the name means "the good, the one who brings good luck". Often, as on this statue, he is represented by a Yogi, endowed with an immense power, and who has the connsaissance universal, supreme and absolute. Its 5 essential functions are to be : the creator, the preserver, the transformer, the dissimulating and revealing. He is the father of other deities, including Ganesha, the god with elephant head.
Faithfully to the tradition of hinduism, Shiva is represented here with the attributes of legend : his bun (the seat of the river Ganges), the crescent moon in his hair (symbol of eternity), his 3rd eye (that sees beyond the material reality), the cobra around his neck (symbol of divine energy), and the tiger skin on which he is sitting (symbolizing his mastery of nature).

Très belle statue !
Teinte marron un peu trop foncée à mon gout, mais rien de grave Comme déjà signalé dans un avis d'août 2020, la photo sur le site n'est pas conforme au modèle reçu. Dommage que le site ne soit pas à jour
Très bel article
La statuette est magnifique et très bien sculptée dans un bois de qualité. Elle dégage une très bonne énergie propice en particulier à la méditation. Son emballage est en plus vraiment sérieux et réduit au minimum le risque de dommages pendant le transport. C'est mon premier achat ... et surement pas le dernier !
