A Sublime Couple of Timor Statues Depicting Protective Ancestors
The two statues are sold together and cannot be purchased separately. Dimensions / large statue: height 88 to 90cm x 11cm x 12cm approx. / small statue: height 84 to 86cm x 11cm x 12cm approximately. Material: petrified wood, aged and patinated by hand, metal base. Handcrafted creation imported in compliance with fair trade rules. Limited Edition. In the primitive art of Timor, statues of ancestors are used to protect the home that houses them from evil spirits . They must be cared for, prayed to them, and offered at their feet so that their protection may endure. These two statues have been made in accordance with traditional techniques and proudly display this inimitable antique style that makes them so charming.
