Statues and statuettes representing Buddha are very easily found on the Internet and in stores.

But the vast majority of these items are standardized industrial manufactures in resin (or poly-resin), or "magnesium oxide" (or magnesia). Manufacturers choose these materials because they are inexpensive and easy to manufacture in large series.

These "industrial Buddhas" are sometimes (but not always) offered at a price a little lower than our artisanal creations. At first glance, they may seem attractive to us. But it is once exposed at home that the difference becomes obvious.

Industrial creations ultimately have little effect on our eyes. We do not notice them because, bland and devoid of artistic interest, they drown in the mass of consumable decorative objects, typical of our time.

On the contrary, our artisanal creations like this bust of Buddha, are made in short series with noble materials and a finish applied manually. And this significantly changes the way we look at the object.
