Magnificent and imposing statue (40cm height) of exotic wood, hand carved, representing the hindu god Shiva. Creation of the artisanal and fair.
Dimensions : H 40 x W 30,5 x d 16cm approx. Material : wood Suar from forests planted and managed by an organization for the protection of the environment. The Suar is a noble wood of Asia, of the family of mahogany. Finish brown wax. Fair trade : the craftsman who carved this statue in itself establishes the price and can live with dignity from their work.

Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu, a major god of hinduism. In sanskrit, the name means "the good, the one who brings good luck". Often, as is the case with this statue, he is represented by a Yogi, endowed with an immense power, and who has the universal knowledge, supreme and absolute. Its 5 essential functions are to be : the creator, the preserver, the transformer, the dissimulating and revealing. He is the father of other deities, including Ganesha, the god with elephant head.
Faithfully to the tradition of hinduism, Shiva is represented here with the attributes of legend : his bun (the seat of the river Ganges), the crescent moon in his hair (symbol of eternity), his 3rd eye (that sees beyond the material reality), the cobra around his neck (symbol of divine energy), and the tiger skin on which he is sitting (symbolizing his mastery of nature).

Splendide Shiva....
Statue magnifique avec beaucoup de détails, la couleur vraiment très belle. La rencontre avec un de mes chats qui s'appelle également Shiva a été rigolote... Il a passé sa soirée endormi tout proche de la Statue.
