Coco Papaya practices fair tradeand respect forthe planet. The wood used to make this surfboard comes from planted forests, and the craftsman who carved it received a fair remuneration for his work. 

How does our craftsman make this surfboard?

Unsurprisingly, the starting point is a large wooden plank that the craftsman sculpts into the shape of a surfboard, before sanding it to give it a smooth touch.

Then the surfboard is painted entirely black. Then the craftsman draws the desired pattern on the board, with white paint.

The last step is the most impressive, the one that requires the most dexterity: the craftsman sculpts the motif with a wood chisel following the model drawn with paint. Each stroke of a wood chisel removes the paint and makes the natural colour of the wood reappear. The result is amazing: the pattern seems to have been printed on the wood!
