The Bhumisparsha Buddha is always represented in a seated position, the right hand resting on the knee and the fingers pointing towards the ground. "Bhumisparsha" means "to touch the earth". This gesture, called "mudrā", is a symbolic representation of the moment when Buddha became enlightened, under the Bodhi tree.

Here is a simple and easy decorating idea to create a small Buddhist altar yourself, which you will place in a room dedicated to well-being and relaxation:
- Get a nice little terrarium that you will have on a natural material place mat (seagrass, abaca, bamboo ...)
