Chandra and the White Moonstone

According to Hindu mythology, white moonstone was associated with the moon god, Chandra.

It is said that Chandra was in love with a beautiful princess named Rohini, but he was also attracted to other women. To punish him for his infidelity, the gods cursed him and gradually caused him to decline and disappear.

Rohini, who was deeply in love with Chandra, implored the gods to come to her aid. Touched by his distress, the gods gave him a white moonstone, which had the power to restore life and vigour to Chandra. Rohini placed the stone on Chandra's forehead, and he immediately regained his strength and beauty.

Since then, white moonstone has been considered a symbol of love and loyalty in India, and it is said to have the power to strengthen emotional bonds and promote emotional healing.
