Chandra and the White Moonstone

According to Hindu mythology, white moonstone was associated with the moon god, Chandra.

It is said that Chandra was in love with a beautiful princess named Rohini, but he was also attracted to other women. To punish him for his infidelity, the gods cursed him and gradually caused him to decline and disappear.

Rohini, who was deeply in love with Chandra, implored the gods to come to her aid.
