Meditation and Serenity

We are sure to fall in love with this magnificent natural amethyst bracelet, composed of 108 carefully selected natural amethyst beads, and a charm engraved with the lotus flower symbol.

Originating in Tibet where it is called "Mala", it is an essential tool for meditation, prayer and energy healing, helping to find the path to inner calm and serenity.

Natural amethyst was chosen here for its soothing and purifying properties. It promotes intuition, mental clarity, and spiritual connection.

The lotus flower charm adds a touch of elegance and spirituality. In Buddhist culture, the lotus flower symbolizes purity, rebirth, and enlightenment. Emerging from the mud to blossom on the surface of the water, the lotus flower represents the ability to overcome obstacles and grow spiritually.

This amethyst and lotus flower mala is carefully handcrafted with high-quality materials: the 108 natural amethyst beads are mounted on a multi-strand elastic thread made of highly resistant nylon, making it an accessory as robust as it is elegant, and suitable for the majority of wrists, regardless of body type. You can also wear it as a long necklace, with the lotus flower charm acting as a pendant.

Whether you're a yoga practitioner, a meditation enthusiast, or just looking for a trendy piece of jewelry that conveys spirituality, this mala is a perfect choice. Don't wait any longer to treat yourself to it and enjoy its soothing and inspiring benefits on a daily basis!

The Mala: Origin, History and Use

The mala is a meditation and prayer tool that has been used for thousands of years in the Buddhist, Hindu, and Sikh traditions. It usually consists of 108 beads, although malas can be found with 27, 54, or 216 beads, and is sometimes accompanied by a larger bead, called a "guru" or "meru," and a decorative charm or pendant.

The origin of mala can be traced back to ancient India, where it was used by yogis and sages to recite mantras and connect to their spiritual practice. The word "mala" means "garland" in Sanskrit, and it is considered a symbol of the divine energy that connects all living things.

The Meaning of the Number 108

The number 108 is sacred in many spiritual and religious traditions, and it is often associated with wholeness, unity, and connection with the divine. There are several explanations for the origin of this number:

  • In Vedic astrology, there are 12 zodiac signs and 9 planets, giving a total of 108 possible combinations.
  • In the yogic tradition, it is said that there are 108 energy points (marmas) in the body, which are connection points between the energy channels (nadis) and the chakras.
  • According to Tibetan Buddhism, there are 108 trials that the Buddha overcame to attain enlightenment.

The use of mala

In the Buddhist tradition, the mala is used to recite mantras, prayers, or positive affirmations, by sliding the beads between the fingers with each repetition. This practice, called "japa," helps to calm the mind, improve focus, and connect with one's spiritual intention.

To use a mala, hold it in your right hand and recite your mantra or prayer aloud, in a low voice, or mentally. After reciting the mantra, slide one next bead between your thumb and middle finger. Continue in this way with each repetition of the mantra, until you have gone through the 108 beads of your mala. So you must have recited your mantra 108 times.

Malas can be made from a variety of materials, such as gemstones (here amethyst), rudraksha seeds, sandalwood, or other natural materials. Each material has its own energetic and symbolic properties, which can enhance the intention and benefits of practicing japa.
