Practical and elegant: set of 6 coasters (or sub-cups) in abalone mother-of-pearl marquetry with star pattern
Size:
- Coasters: diameter 10cm / thickness about 0.5cm (each coaster).
- Case: 10 x 4 x 4.5cm length.
Matter: Wood covered with a natural mother-of-pearl marquetry. Craft and fair-trade. Does not fear heat and can therefore be used as a sub-cup of hot drinks. Clean with a damp sponge. Do not put in the dishwasher.

Protect your table and add a touch of elegance to your aperitifs and meals with these beautiful handmade coasters by our Balinese craftsmen. The iridescent reflections of mother-of-pearl give them a unique style, which will contrast both on tables in light tones or darker.
At the end of the meal, store them in the small matching case provided for this purpose (included).
The technique of branding
The marquetry requires meticulous and precise craftsmanship. The craftsman who made these coasters specializes in this technique and all his creations are inspired by it.
Mother-of-pearl is first recovered from shellfish from the fishing industry, which is a form of recycling. It is then applied to the coasters in a predefined pattern (here, a star), then crushed to become completely flat. This is when the cracked effect occurs.
The mother-of-pearl pattern is finally fixed with a resin that can be of different colors. On this model, a white resin is used.
