The sarong, sometimes called batik (this is the fabrication technique that is different), is a traditional garment indonesia that can also be found in West Africa (sometimes with other names such as "boubou"). Westerners use it most often as sarong beach because it preserves the intimacy of the body while being very lightweight and comfortable, but some prefer to wear a scarf or as a stole...
It is also commonly used as a wall hanging or as a textile decoration to dress up a chair or a chaise, for example.
