The Rainstick is a primitive musical instrument used for millennia by shamans of various ethnicities to call rain. Just turn it over, like an hourglass, and the seeds they contain will flow producing a sound close to that of rain.

In Melanesia, the rain stick is called a " talking stick" because it is used as a sound hourglass and is used to time the speaking time of each speaker.

To reproduce as faithfully as possible the sound of a downpour, several rain sticks of lengths are needed.
