Buddha is represented here in Vitarka Mudra. The ends of the thumb and index finger touching to form a circle. The right hand is held in front of the torso, while the left rests on the legs. This posture is the one that Buddha when he taught the doctrine to his disciples. The circles formed by the fingers represent a flow of energy to infinity.
