Buddhist culture contains various mudra (position codified of the hands and the posture of the Buddha). Each Mudra has a specific meaning, because it is in fact the union between the body, the spirit and the voice of the Buddha. Here is a Buddha sitting in the lotus position and posture so-called "Vitarka Mûdra", the Mûdra of Teaching and Argumentation : the right hand is raised at chest level and the thumb with the index a circle, the other fingers being raised.
