- Protect the wood by applying 2 coats of high-protection woodstain, especially on the most exposed parts (top and bottom). Renew this protection approximately every 2 to 3 years.
- Anchor the totemto the ground to prevent it from tipping over in the wind. The easiest way to do this is to insert one or two concrete reinforcing bars into the base of the totem, leaving them protruding some 50-60cm below the statue. Then simply plant the totem in the ground: the concrete reinforcing bars will provide an effective, long-lasting anchor.
