A true masterpiece of craftsmanship
This impressive wood carving of 50cm in length weighing around 10kg is the work of the best sculptor we know. He is a Balinese artist with whom we have been working since 2003 in mutual respect. Observe the sculpting details: the trunk, the ears, the elephant's legs, its ceremonial attire... Everything is chiseled with incredible finesse and precision. Carved from a single piece of a noble wood, suar, this majestic elephant has a natural texture and color, which gives it a striking beauty.
The statue took several days to complete. Its price remains affordable because salaries and the cost of living are much lower in Indonesia than in Europe. Our craftsman sets his selling prices himself, without any pressure from us. Our commissions allow him to make a dignified living from his work, and even to hire and train young sculptors, thus perpetuating this increasingly rare know-how .
